Chapter 10

Before I overthought it, I started slowly moving my hips against him grinding into him.

Once again, it was a big spread with Louie and Leo waiting for us.

Leo was flying out at 4 whereas our flight left at 1. I was going straight to the airport with Louie, while Landon and Leo had to go and finish some business. I definitely did not ask any questions about what business.

Not long after, a couple of hotel staff came to pack our bags for us. I tried to say not to worry, I would do my own, but Landon wasn’t having it. I just rolled my eyes at him and said I was going to go and do my underwear first whether he liked it or not. Of course, this had Louie and Leo sniggering.

Landon and Leo left straight after breakfast. 

Leo gave me a big bear hug, almost crushing me and lifted me off the floor. “Careful of your wounds”. He just laughed me off, saying he just couldn’t wait until I was in Italy. I tried not to think about it as the whole Italy thing was still honestly freaking me out. I just can’t see it happening!

Landon said he would see me at the airport and gave me a deep kiss, which was of course, accompanied by wolf whistles by the others!

When they left, I couldn’t believe it was only 10! I could still have been sleeping, but then again we should leave for the airport in about an hour latest.

Louie and I just watched some TV to pass the time as he had someone pack his bags as well, so he didn’t need to go and do that. 

“OK, we should get ready to go, it’s nearly 11 and it can take up to an hour to get to the airport some days if the traffic is bad. We can check in on our phones on the way. Do you have the ticket details?” 

I looked over as Louie laughed at me.

“What?”

“I think we will be fine if we finish this show first. There is only 20 minutes left.”

“But…”

“Shussshhh I can’t hear what they are saying” I rolled my eyes and sat back down.

“Fine, but if we miss the flight it’s your fault!” 

Finally, the show finished and I was getting anxious we were going to be late. I dragged Louie out the door as the bags were already supposedly in the car, except my laptop bag and my handbag. 

On the way Louie said he had checked us in so not to worry. My anxiety was starting to skyrocket though, as there was a car accident on the freeway and it was going to take ages to get to the airport.

We finally made it to the airport at 12.34 and I was sure we would have to organise another flight as it was too late, but again he waved me off. I started to get confused as the car turned before the main turn off for departures.

I was looking around in confusion until the SUV convoy stopped 10 minutes later near a large private jet. 

My door opened, nearly making me jump as I stared at the jet.

All the staff welcomed us while not making eye contact.

It was all cream and dark wood accents with singular plush seating down one side and either booth seating or three chairs in a row. I am guessing they can either play cards or recline the chairs and rest. All of it was so luxurious in every way that I wanted to touch every surface like a kid in a furniture store. 

There was a hallway to one side midway with rooms coming off them. Landon grabbed my hand and guided me down, showing there was a kitchen/stewardess station, a couple of toilets, an office, then a bedroom at the back.

“I thought you might want some rest.”

I nodded as it sounded like a good idea since I was about to pack up my single life, which I really wasn’t ready for. I had almost been waiting for him to say ‘fooled you’.

I took off my shoes and got into bed, not expecting him to do the same, but he did. 

Instead of curling around me, he lay on his back and pulled me onto his chest.

“Stop worrying and sleep”, he kissed the top of my head.

Yeah, I probably looked like a dear in headlights as it was dawning on me we were only a couple of hours away from being back in Melbourne. My home where I was living the independent single life, working my ass off, feeling lonely every other weekend as I went out for drinks with my married friends, who could finally get out of the house away from partners and kids.

I knew this was coming, everything was coming to a head, making her panic. She still doesn’t understand she was made for me. 

I wish we had more time so I could show her through proper dating or some shit. You know, give her longer to process this to make it easier on her, but 4 more weeks away from Italy is already a risk. 

I may have to make a trip back depending on how everything goes. 

I know Leo can handle it, he is next in line if something happens to me and he is well feared and respected. 

Normally, we make sure either Leo or I are in Italy, but the snake in Sydney was trying to say he was under Leo’s orders. Leo couldn’t help but make an appearance and torture the fuck himself.

Even with Leo quickly heading back to Italy, some fuckers like to test the limits if I’m not there. I expect there to be a few deaths over the next 4 weeks. Hopefully none of my men.

 I can practically hear him nod his head because he knows it’s true. Trying to get her to buy a $2000 dress would be like trying to get Lou to admit his feelings for my cousin. Will see how that drama unfolds since her marriage is close to ending, ready for him to wake up and do something about it. 

“The storage locker is booked and ready under the name you wanted.”

“Her work?”

“We have hacked into her company security cameras. There will be at least one person monitoring her every movement inside and 3 on the ground with her from when she enters to as soon as she exits.”

“Good. Enzo have any issues we need to deal with?”

“He said he would talk to us when we got there. I would say the same issues as Sydney.”

I nod as I shouldn’t be surprised. This game is always competitive and there is always some fucker who thinks he can either sneak in under the radar or come in guns blazing. 

“Oh Ma called. If you don’t video call her with Kate by Wednesday, she will be on the next flight out.”

A video call is better than in person for her first meeting though.
