Awkward Dinner

Thursday went by too fast. I unpacked all the items from the DemondTree hotel. I helped around the house a bit. Mrs. Brown gave me the recipe for the cannoli and promised to make it with me one day. I learned a bit more about their family. Eric’s dad was also a Gamma and Regan had just recently turned 18 like me but had not found her mate yet. 

Katie and I talked about her power, but she knew less than I about it. I thought I would talk to Vincent about Dr. Rosenbaum ran a few tests on her like he was doing for me. 

Eric stayed away on business most of the day. He returned for dinner but wouldn’t look at me. I stopped him in the hall after dinner. 

I asked, “Did I do something? You have been distant and that isn’t like you.”

He looked sad. “I kind of wished you would have been my chosen mate. Vincent knows this and he has me doing a lot of extra hours to keep me away from you.”

“I am sorry. I didn’t know. I will talk to him about this tomorrow,” I said.

“No, that will just make it worse.” He looked tired.

“Eric, I really do like you, but you will find your mate. I promise it will happen and she will be amazing. The moon goddess owes me one and her daughter is my wolf, so I can put in a request.” I joked and got a small smile. “I guess it is time for me to go to bed. I need to meet Vincent at 6 a.m. in his office. Your mom is dropping me off and taking Katie to her new school.”

As he turned to leave. I stopped him. “Eric. I cannot thank you enough. You sent me to DemondTree and now your parents have accepted Kaite and I like your family. I never knew such a loving family. Without meeting you, none of this would have been happening.”

“Yeah, but you also would not have met Alpha Vincent.” He said with remorse. “I think I knew you would be his mate from the day he got back after the attack. He was extra irritable, and it wasn’t just because of Beth.”

“You should have warned me!” I teased. 

“Yeah, I guess I just hoped I was wrong,” he said. “Well, get a good night's sleep as I am sure tomorrow will be exhausting.”

We said goodbyes and I headed up to tuck Katie in. I was out too fast, and the morning alarm came too soon.

I got ready in black leggings, pink sports bra and white tank top. We were training after all. I braided my hair to keep it out of the way. I woke up Katie and got her ready for school. She had picked out a nice dress with shorts to wear. Her backpack was packed with new supplies from the Browns. Really, they are too much. 

We rushed to eat breakfast and were ushered out the door. We drove in silence. I kept searching my mind for any sign of Sasha’s return, but no luck. I really must have over done it. I could really use her to talk about the Vincent thing and for support in whatever the day will hold.

I didn’t want to alarm Katie, so I gave her a big smile when I was dropped at the pack house. I told her to have a great day at school and we could talk about it over dinner tonight. She looked at me worried. I forgot she can sense feelings.

“Momma, if he does anything use your magic to tell me and I will be there to kick him.” She said. 

I smiled at that. It, broke my unease. “Katie, my dear, I will be fine. I just haven’t trained since I was your age.”

“ It has been a long time,” she said. 

Mrs. Brown broke out laughing. “You will be fine dear. Remember patience, Alphas are not used to being challenged.”

That was good advice. I thanked her and waved goodbye to Katie. When I turned around, Vincent was right behind me. I looked up at him. He was in a dark suit with a light shirt underneath. To say he took my breath away was an understatement. My knees were about to go weak at the sight of him. 

“I…I thought we were training today.” I mumbled. 

“We are talking about training. I am not letting any of my male warriors near you,” he said. I smiled and shook my head at his show of possessiveness. 

“You don’t think I could hold my own?” I removed my sweatshirt and hopped back and forth like I was getting ready.

Vincent growled “Put your shirt back on, others can see you. Do you know I can see right through your tank top?”

“Yes.” I smiled. I flexed my arms. “I like it. It shows off my toned arms.” 

With another growl, he grabbed my hand and dragged me up the stairs to his office. He shut the door and locked it behind him. “I don’t want you showing off any part of you.” 

“Why?” I asked, knowing damn well the answer.

“You are my mate. I do not want other people looking at what is mine.” I smiled a bit. “Wait, you are pushing my buttons on purpose?”

“Maybe.” I smiled.

“I should punish you for that.” He said, his eyes going a bit dark. His wolf must be fighting him.

“I thought we were here to talk about training.” He moved closer to me. I stumbled on my words. “I..I mean if you won’t let me train with others, who will I train with?”

“Me. Or my Beta.”

“What about Eric? He is your Gamma and I’m sure a good warrior.” Vincent growled. “Or Michael? I at least know them.” 

“John is a good Beta and has a mate. Michael would be fine too, as he had a mate. NOT Eric.”

“Fine.”

“You will train here in the training room in the backyard. You will need to be accompanied by one of the warriors I approved or myself, if you want to go anywhere. Your training will be early in the morning before others get to the training field. 4 a.m. That will also allow you time to get back to Katie. You will practice only hand to hand, no magic till your wolf returns. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes, Alpha.” I responded to his command. 

“Please call me Vincent.” He offered. Desire and regret filled his dark blue eyes.

“Yes, Vincent.” With that, he came across the room and embraced me in a hug. 

“I missed you.” He said when trailing butterfly kisses on my neck. I couldn’t help myself. I moaned when he kissed the place where a mate would mark. Tingles and heat were spreading across my body and my core was beginning to drip.

“I can smell you. Tell me if you want me to stop.” He breathed between kisses. His kisses had moved to my shoulders and just above my bra on my chest. I couldn’t speak, it felt so good. So right. What would it hurt to have some pleasure? I was going to give him a shot after all.

My silence must have encouraged him. He pulled the tank top off and began kissing my stomach.

“Last chance, Fillian. If you say no now, I will stop. I do think once I start I will be able to stop. I need you so bad.” He looked up at me and paused for my response. 

“Please don’t stop.” I grabbed his face and kissed him.

He picked me up and walked me to the couch in his office. We didn’t break our kiss, both fighting for control. I was savoring the taste of his lips when he pulled away and began to assault my body with kisses. He removed my bra and slowly massaged each breast and then took them into his mouth.

From there he moved to my belly. “Fillian. I want to taste you.”



I didn’t know what he meant so I just nodded my consent. He slowly stripped the leggings off, then bent his head down between my legs. He kissed my hips and worked his way to my mound. I gasped at the sensation. My mind was going crazy. 

He used his mouth to remove my panties. I lifted my hips to give him easier removal. He plunged his finger into me. I howled as there was a bit of pain as he stretched me with his fingers. 

“Fillian, you are so ready.” He said before covering me with his mouth.

“Vincent.” I groaned. I couldn’t hold back and soon my toes curled. I felt like I was on the verge of something. Just on the ledge when I grabbed his hair. He looked up at me and smiled.

I could barely speak but what came out was “Please…” He started again. Soon I fell over that ledge. I was seeing stars. No, the room was spinning. I guess there is no description that would quite fit this. He slowly sat me up and I gathered my clothes and put them on.

“So, Fillian, will you be my mate?” He asked.

“You are my Mate. I just can’t be your Luna.” I said. He looked at me shocked and hurt. “How could I be a Luna?”
