Foreboding feeling

Koko's POV



After that day at the garden where Laci quarrelled with her mother, I saw less of her mother. It had been three days now and the Queen mother was still not coming to the palace.



I hoped I wasn't the reason she had decided not to come to the palace again. I didn't want to be a bad person. As it was, I had already being labeled all sorts of names already. I really didn't want more.



I think Laci was already through with her festivities at her place. She might come today. I missed her and Niyol.



I just hoped that Niyol came home soon so he could resolve the issue between his mother and Laci. I really didn't want to be the reason why they would stop talking to each other.



There was a knock on my door before it was pushed open. A maid came in carrying my breakfast. 



"Miss, Prince Henry told me to give you this letter. He said you should get rid of it once you are through reading it." The maid said, bowing.



I thanked her and she swiftly left the room. Just as the maid left, I thought it was odd. I had never seen that face before. Was she a new maid? That was plausible, because I could attest that I had never seen that face among the maids, neither had I perceived her pheromones.



I stared at the food before me, but I wasn't having any appetite, yet I felt like eating a horse! This was getting out of hand. The symptoms I was having was multiplying everyday.



I looked at a particular dish that was covered. It must be my favourite shrimp and fish sauce. My mouth began to water and I hurriedly opened it so that I can eat.



As I opened the dish, the scent of shrimp and fish enveloped my nose. I felt like puking and the scent made me extremely nauseous. I quickly covered the dish and held my nose tightly from inhaling the aroma.



As I thought more about it, I realized that I had been having strange cravings and hobbies for some time now. Was I really that sick? Maybe it was due to all the stress I had suffered before or it might be because of the change of environment.



I decided that if it persisted even after Niyol's return next week, I would suggest we go to the hospital. I would have gone by myself, but I was still feeling bad about what happened at the supermarket.



If not for Henry who helped me that day, I didn't know what else would have happened to me. Maybe I would have decide to leave the pack before Niyol would come back.



I stared at the letter the maid had given me. I understood why he sent a letter instead of coming. Maybe he doesn't want people to start gossiping about us, at least that was what he said the last time.



I tore the letter opened and neatly written words were scribbled on it.



Hi beautiful eyes!

You must be feeling stuffy this morning right?

Do you remember the place I described to you?

Come and meet me there,

I saw some perfect berries to lift your spirits

Don't worry about security. Come alone

So you can feel free without being watched.

Henry(Mr supermarket Prince).



Folding the letter, I put it under my pillow. I was going to burn it once I finished eating. I saw the last word in the letter and I smiled.



After that incident at the supermarket, I changed his name, and started calling him Mr supermarket Prince. It was because he saved me from humiliation at the supermarket and I later found out that his father was an alpha.



He hated when I address him as a prince, but I kept on doing it just to see how he crumpled his face every time. It was fun and I felt alive any time I was around him. Though he rarely came to the palace and we usually met at the garden where the maids were always working.



Somehow I had grown to trust him over the space of one month. He was easy going and never discriminated against me. I got close to him and always enjoyed his presence.



Maybe it was because he reminded me of Niyol. 



At the thought of my mate, my face lit up with joy and I was feeling happy, because I would see him in a few days. I missed him every second and every minute of the day. Everything reminded me of how much I wanted him to cuddle me.



I missed the way he talked to me and I missed the way he looked at me, even when he tried not to be obvious. In fact, words couldn't describe how much I was missing him.



I felt stuffed up again. I wanted to eat breakfast so I could get some energy, so I could have the strength to go to the place Henry said I should meet him up.



I quickly finished the other dishes and changed my clothing to something thicker. Once dressed, I eagerly left the room.



Unfortunately on my way out of the palace, I bumped into the Queen mother and Aunt Maria. I wonder if lady luck wasn't on my side today. I was definitely going to get an earful!



"I understand that you have a cursed eye, are you also blind? Can't you see?" She spat out angrily.



"I.. I.. I am sorry, Queen mother." I apologized.



"Haven't I told you that the only sorry that I would accept is when you finally disappear? I hate seeing your cursed face!" She said, contempt written all over her face.



"What do you expect from a cursed girl who only knows how to bring bad luck!" Aunt Maria said.



I wonder if she and the others doesn't get tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. They had been stressing the word cursed ever since they saw my eyes.



"Stop staring at us! Do you want to put a spell on us just as he did to Laci and the Alpha King?" Aunt Maria asked.



If only I knew how to do those spells, I would have still been in my pack and probably being mated to Gad! I would have made everyone in my pack love me.



"I am sorry, your majesty!" I said, bowing my head.



"Are you dumb or trying to be one? Should I spell it to you that the only way for you to feel sorry is to get lost? I don't know why you are still clinging to my son." She said, throwing me a contemptuous look.



I remained silent.



"Speak when the Queen mother is talking to you!" Aunt Maria barked.



Just as I wanted to speak, I suddenly felt nauseous and I felt like vomiting every food in my stomach. I tried to hold it back as my face turned pale.



Unable to bear it any more, I ran away from them towards the palace gates. I wanted some fresh air to dispel the nauseating feeling I was having.



It seemed my body was becoming worse and I didn't think I would be waiting for Niyol. I would just go to the hospital tomorrow with Laci. 



It seems I was getting sick. I think I needed

 to get treated.

After feeling refreshed, I continue walking into the forest. I followed the directions he described for me.



But he wasn't here. I couldn't even feel his scent. Wasn't he the one who sent the letter?



I was already here in the place he described and it was indeed filled with fresh air. I breathed in the fresh air and the scent of lilies that was growing around me.



The place was simply heavenly. I think I would come here with Laci. I didn't think she knew a place like this existed. I just felt fresh after inhaling the calming air here.



I kept on admiring the surroundings for some time. But after a while, Henry still hadn't come to meet me. I thought he would have been here already or was he caught up with something? Where could he be? 



Or was I in the wrong place? It can't be! He clearly described this place to me and I followed his description. But why was he not here?



Just as I was wondering why he was late, my nose caught some unfamiliar scent coming my way. I looked around but couldn't find anyone. 



Strange. I clearly smelled an unfamiliar scent, but why was I not seeing anyone? And what was keeping Henry. He told me to come here and I was here waiting for him!



I sniffed the air again and the scent became stronger. I felt a kind of fear creeping towards my heart. I turned around to leave the place. I felt like there was something off about the place.



Just as I turned around to run as fast as I could, a hand drew me closer as another stuffed something like a cloth over my nose.



Within seconds, my world turned blank.
