 A pleasant dream is interrupted by a frantic knocking on the door. I am cuddled up with Amber, who has her arms around Skylar. I am a little jealous that she usually seems to wind up wrapped around my twin every morning. I sigh as the sleep fog lifts, and they stir from the noise.

 “What the hell?” Skylar mutters.

 The knocking continues, and Amber wakes up. “What’s going on?”

 I unwind from them and slide out of bed. I look around for something to cover myself, grab a pair of shorts, and slide them on. 

 “Those are mine,” Skylar mentions as I stumble towards the door.

 I ignore him as I open it to Amber’s father, Flynt, “Good morning, Flynt,” I mumble.

 Flynt inhales and cringes, “I need to speak with my daughter.”

 I glance back, and Amber is still lying on the bed in Skylar’s arms. “Amber,” I call to her.

 She pops her head up, “What?”

 “Your dad is here,” I announce, and she yelps.

 “Don’t let him in. I’m naked,” Amber whines.

 Flynt shakes his head and laughs, “I’ll wait in the hallway. But tell her to hurry. It’s urgent.”

 I nod and shut the door, “Did you hear that?”

 “Yeah,” Amber nods as she rolls off the bed and looks around for her clothes, “Shit, where are my clothes?”

 Skylar points around the room and then looks up, “Your panties got caught in the chandelier,” He starts laughing.

 “Dammit,” Amber yells. She picks up a pair of shorts and slides them on.

 “Those are mine,” I tell her.

 She rolls her eyes, picks up a T-shirt, and throws it on.

 “That’s mine,” Skylar snorts.

 “Shut up,” She mutters and marches towards the door. “Dad?” She says as she opens the door. “I’ll be right back.”

 I wander over to the bed and flop down. “Damn, we went at its hard last night,” I sigh as I remember the bed slamming against the wall. 

 “Yeah,” Skylar laughs and touches the wall. There is a hole in the plaster, and the wood on the headboard is splintered. 

“She likes taking it.”

 “She does,” I agree. “Savannah never went that hard,” I smirk.

 Skylar huffs and walks into the bathroom.

 Amber reenters the bedroom looking upset. She starts to gather her things.

 “What’s wrong?” I ask her.

 “My family all have to leave immediately,” She responds.

 “Why, what’s wrong?” I wonder. 

 “I guess they were attacked last night,” She sniffles. 

 “IS everyone okay?” I ask and pull her into my arms. Amber tries to push me away but gives up. I kiss the top of her head.

 “Dad says there are no casualties, but Deacon wants him and Dylan home. Uncle Henry is leaving after the Council decides on his case,” She explains and takes a deep breath. “I wish I could be there to help.”

 Skylar walks out of the bathroom and stares at us, “What’s wrong with her?”

 “Her family has to leave,” I respond as I let Amber go.

 “Really? Why?” Skylar frowns.

 Amber wipes a tear from her cheek as she throws her things into a bag, “Shadow Winds has been attacked, and my cousin needs my brother home.”

 “Oh,” Skylar sighs, “They should be okay,” He tries to assure her. “It’s not like Shadow Winds is a weak pack.”

 “I want to be there,” Amber complains.

 There is another knock on the door, and I saunter over to answer it to Amber’s grandfather. 

 “Amber, sweetie,” Norman pokes his head into the room and shakes his head, “Yowsers.”

 “Grandpa,” Amber stops. “Are you leaving with my dad?”

 “Yeah,” He grumbles. “That was one of the stipulations for letting us out of the Cells,” He laughs.

 “I would have punched that asshole too,” Skylar announces, and Norman laughs, “I bet you would have, son.”

 “Is everyone okay, Grandpa?” Amber asks.

 “Yes, dear,” He responds. “It was just a small attack.”

 “Grandpa,” She stomps her foot. “I know you are lying to me.”

 “I am not lying to you,” Norman huffs. “No one was hurt, Amber.”

 “Then why is Deacon so adamant about having my brother home so soon?” She pushes.

 “Dylan is the gamma,” Norman shrugs. 

 “I want to go,” Amber folds her arms.

 “It’s best you stay with your mates, honey,” Norman tells her.

 Amber groans and finishes packing her things. 

 “Everyone is fine. I assure you,” Norman explains. “Henry and your grandmother are staying here a little longer.”

 She sniffles. “I miss everyone.”

 “They miss you,” Norman steps into the room and glances at the bed, “Oh joy, more great-grandpups.”

 “Grandpa,” Amber huffs.

 “What? You don’t think I know what happened here last night?” Norman winks at Skylar and me. 

 “Boys,” Dad pokes his head in, “Oh, hey, Norm.” He greets the elder alpha. “When did they let you out of the clink?”

 Norman laughs, “This morning.”

 “He and my dad have to leave,” Amber blubbers.

 “We are leaving soon, too,” Dad announces. “So, get your things packed and ready to go.”

 “I’ll see you downstairs,” Norman tells Amber. “You boys take good care of my granddaughter,” He grabs my shoulder and Skylar’s arm. “Protect her at all costs.”

 “I would die for her,” I tell him.

 Norman shakes his head, “I would prefer that you don’t die, Tyler.” He lets go of us and nods at Dad before exiting the room.

 “I’ll be down at the cafeteria getting breakfast,” Dad tells us and leaves.

 Amber has slipped into the bathroom, and I hear the shower turn on a moment later. 

Part of me wants to join her, but I get dressed instead. I throw on a pair of slacks and a button-up shirt. Skylar dresses in a similar manner. 

 Amber exits the bathroom wearing a lovely dark purple skirt and silky shirt. Her auburn hair is in a slick ponytail. She notices Skylar and me staring and smirks, “You like it?” She asks while wiggling her little ass.

 Skylar lets out a lustful growl and lightly swats her butt before pulling her into his arms, “You look delicious, mate,” he says and kisses her lips. They hold the kiss, and she wraps her arms around his neck.

 I look away momentarily and pick up my phone charger from the floor. Skylar releases Amber and I take my turn and wrap my arm around her waist. I dip my nose in the crook of her neck and inhale. The scent of wild raspberries makes my dick twitch. But there is something off about her scent. It’s different. I plant a kiss on her lips as Castor whimpers in my head.

 “I have to get downstairs,” Amber pulls away from me. “I’ll meet you guys in the cafeteria after I say bye to my dad and Dylan.”

 “Okay, sweetie,” I respond.

 She waves and rushes out of the room.

 “Did she smell different to you?” Skylar nudges me.

 “Yeah,” I nod.

 Caster snickers but says nothing. 

 “Did your wolf just snicker at you?” Skylar asks.

 “Yeah,” I nod.
