 “I know what we can do,” I say to Amber with a waggle of my eyebrows. She pales slightly with a blush on her cheeks. “Damn, you're cute when you blush.”

 “Can we just hang out, maybe?” She shrugs. “Like watch movies or maybe hang out in the game room.”

 “We could do that,” I glance at Skylar, who shrugs. 

 Amber nods and walks toward the house. My twin and I silently follow her. Castor is in my head, mumbling about marking her, but I know now is not the right time.

 ‘We have to wait,’ I tell my eager wolf.

 ‘But we don’t have much time,’ He insists.

 ‘What is that supposed to mean?’ I ask, but he retreats. I look at Skylar, ‘Is Pollux acting strange?’ I mind link him.

 ‘More than usual?’ He counters, and I nod. ‘He was mumbling about marking Amber. Something about we don’t have much time.’

 ‘Yeah, Castor said the same thing,’ I look toward Amber, who keeps glancing at us. “What would you like to do in the game room?” I ask her.

 “Pool?” She smiles.

 “Are you sure about that?” Skylar speaks up. “I kill in Pool.”

 “Until now,” Amber smirks and walks faster with a slight skip.

 Skylar laughs, ‘She is kind of cute when she smirks like that.’

 We enter the game room, and several warriors and other pack members are in it. They all freeze to look at us. 

 “Don’t mind us,” I tell them. “Go about your activities.”

 Amber walks straight to a Pool table, “Ready to get your ass kicked?”

 “You mean you are going to get your ass kicked,” Skylar huffs and grabs a cue.

 “I think I kicked your ass,” She implies.

 “No, you cheated with a nut shot,” He snorts.

 “Twice,” she laughs, and Skylar growls.

 “You go first, sweetheart,” My twin says as he racks up the balls. “Show us what you got.”

 Amber chalks up her cue and bends over to shoot. I notice several sets of eyes landing on her butt. I let out a protective growl, and they all look away. “Was that necessary?” Amber says as she takes her shot. The cue balls make the distinctive crack as it hits the others. I watch in amazement as five balls go into the pockets.

 “I call stripes,” Amber says and prepares her next shot. 

 Skylar and I watch as she sinks several more shots. “Good try,” Skylar grumbles as he takes his turn. He misses and growls.

 Amber saunters around him with a big grin, “Watch this,” She mumbles and sinks two more balls. “Do you want a mercy turn?” She flutters those eyelashes, and I can sense my twin’s frustration.

 “No,” Skylar snarls.

 She laughs as she sinks the eight ball. “I’ll rack them up.”

 Skylar is grinding his teeth and gripping his cue stick entirely too tight. It’s starting to splinter. I put my hand on his arm.

 “Figures she would be good at Pool,” I say nervously.

 Skylar is fuming as he takes his shot. The cue ball slams into the others, but they barely roll anywhere, and none go into a pocket. “Shit,” He snarls.

 Amber tsks as she takes her shot, “It’s okay, Skylar. Not everyone is good at Pool,” she says while sinking two balls.

 My twin walks away for a moment, so I take my turn. I was never good at this game, so I missed the shot. “Pool is more Skylar’s game.”

 “What’s your game then?” Amber asks with a flutter of her eyelashes.

 I nod to the basketball game in the corner, “I like shooting baskets.”

 “Perhaps after I beat you two here, I’ll beat you over there,” she wiggles her hips as she takes out the rest of the balls.

 It takes all my strength not to drag her from this room and take her in the janitor’s closet. Skylar returns a little calmer. 

 “I’m sorry I got angry,” he says through gritted teeth.

 “Competitive?” Amber asks.

 Skylar nods, “I’m an alpha.”

 She laughs, “I can relate.”

 “So, let’s try basketball,” I suggest.

 Skylar scoots straight over to the game and inserts a quarter. He sinks basket after basket. “Beat that,” He smiles triumphantly.

 Amber takes her turn and misses a few shots, “Okay, so basketball isn’t my thing,” she laughs. “It was more my brother’s game.”

 We play a couple more rounds, and a few pack members watch. Amber approaches a warrior and high-fives him, “How is it going, Chaz?” She asks.

 “It’s going good, Luna,” He responds, and Amber scoffs.

 “God, you don’t have to call me that,” She shakes her head.

 “Get used to it,” Skylar responds. 

 Amber says nothing to him. 

 “I’m sorry about Cal,” Chaz mentions, and we all bristle. “I always thought he was a good guy.”

 “Yeah, I thought so too,” Amber frowns.

 “Don’t worry about that son of a bitch,” Skylar growls. “He’s doing hard labor now. That’s what he deserves.”

 Amber turns away from Chaz. “So, what now?” 

 “I’m done with games,” Skylar grumbles and walks toward the couch. He plops down and grabs the remote despite protests from other pack members. He growls, and they all quiet down. He puts the TV on a baseball game.

 “Baseball?” Amber makes a face.

 “You don’t like it?” I ask.

 “Not really,” She shakes her head. “Did you guys play baseball in high school?”

 “Skylar did,” I nod at my twin. “I did wrestling.”

 “I played volleyball for a bit,” Amber tells me. “I wasn’t good at it. My sister Regina was, though. I was more into warrior training.”

 We sit on the couch with Amber between Skylar and me. I put my arm around her, and she leans into me. Skylar eyes her and places a hand on her knee. 

 “What else are you into?” I ask Amber. “Like, what kind of music do you like?”

 “Mostly hard rock,” She responds. “I love Pink Floyd.”

 “That explains the shirt,” I laugh. “I like rock too. My favorite band is Shinedown.”

 “Oh, I like them,” Amber grins and looks at Skylar, “What about you, Skylar?”

 “I like watching baseball,” He mutters.

 She rolls her eyes, “Back to grump mode.”

 Skylar growls.

 I sigh as it seems we are sliding backward already. “Are you guys hungry? Should we get some lunch?”

 “I’m not hungry,” Skylar responds.

 “I am,” Amber stands up. 

 “We’ll be in the dining hall, Sky,” I tell my brother, and he grunts.

 Amber grabs my hand, and we walk out of the game room. We enter the dining hall, and there is a buffet today. After we get our food, Amber looks around at the tables. 

 My sister sits with her two omega friends and waves us to them. “Hey,” Corie grins. 

 “How is it going?” Amber asks as we sit down. 

 “It’s going,” Corie nods.

 “I just found out I was accepted into nursing school,” Matilda grins.

 “That’s wonderful,” Amber smiles. 

 “Yeah, but I don’t know how I am going to pay for it. My parents don’t have money,” Matilda frowns.

 “Ask my dad,” I suggest. “You know he helps with college money.”

 “I didn’t know that, actually,” Matilda shakes her head.

 “You never told her that, Corie?” I narrow my eyes at my sister.

 “I guess I didn’t think about it,” My sister shrugs.

 Amber takes a bite of her food. She has chicken tenders and tater tots in front of her. I got a couple of sliders and fries. She steals a fry from me and grins.

 “Don’t do that with Skylar,” Corie laughs.

 “I found that out,” Amber snorts.

 “I’ll ask my Dad about money for nursing school, Matilda,” I say.

 “Thank you, Tyler,” Matilda grins. 

 “I think that is something I will change when I become alpha. I’ll make it better known that the pack has money available to pay for college.”

 “That’s a great idea,” Amber nods. “My uncle pays for college for pack members too.”

 “Don’t you guys have a college in your pack?”

 “It’s just outside of the pack. We own it, but humans and other supernaturals go to it,” Amber explains.

 “Interesting. So, are there vampires?” I laugh.

 “Yeah,” She nods like it’s nothing.

 I shudder.

 “They aren’t really that bad,” she says while sipping from a can of soda.

 A tray slams down on the table, and Skylar sits on the other side of Amber. Matilda and Gina both stiffen.

 “At ease,” Skylar says to him.

 Amber is eyeing Skylar’s food. He has a pile of fries with cheese sauce and bacon on top. She licks her lips.

 “You want a fry?” Skylar asks, and she nods. “Well, take one if you must,” He snorts and takes a chicken tender from her plate.

 Amber growls playfully as she eats a couple of his fries.

 “So, you guys are like together now?” Corie asks.

 “We were always together, Corie,” I reply.

 “Not really,” My sister scoffs. “You guys were still all over Savannah.”

 “Well, we aren’t anymore, alright?” Skylar growls at her.

 “Whatever, Sky,” She rolls her eyes.

 “We are working things out,” Amber speaks up. 

 “So, when are you becoming an official member of the pack?” Corie asks.

 “I don’t know,” Amber looks at us. 

 “We usually do it around the full moon,” I reply. “But Dad may have it sooner.”

 “I’m in no rush,” She shrugs.

 I say nothing and pick at my food. 

 ‘We must mark her soon,’ Castor speaks up. ‘We don’t have much time left.’

 ‘Why?’ I ask my wolf, but he doesn’t reply.

 We finish eating and take our trays and plates to the trash. 

 “So, what are we doing now?” Amber asks. 

 “I’m going to watch the rest of my game,” Skylar responds.

 “Fine,” Amber huffs.

 “We can hang out in our room,” I suggest.

 “Our room?” Amber narrows her eyes at me.

 “You don’t think that bed being in there was an accident, do you?” I snort. “Our parents always knew we would have the same mate, but let us have our own rooms until the time came.”

 “Oh,” Amber wrinkles her nose. 

 “Does it offend you?” Skylar asks. “I noticed you were sleeping on the couch,”

 “I found it disgusting,” She responds.

 “Why?” Skylar growls.

 Amber stops, “You two made it very clear that I was only here to shut your wolves us. There was no way we were ever going to sleep in that bed together,” she explains. “And I only came here to keep you from declaring war on Shadow Winds,” she pauses. “Which, according to your father, was a lie.”

 “It worked, didn’t it?” Skylar shrugs.

 “Yeah, using my family against me worked,” She grumbles and folds her arms. “Good job. But now- “

 “Now what?” I counter.

 “I don’t know,” Amber shakes her head. “Part of me still wants to go home.”

 “This is your home, Amber,” Skylar growls. 

 “It still doesn’t feel like it,” She argues.

 Skylar pushes her against the wall and boxes her between his arms, “Do we not make you feel at home?”

 Amber trembles and looks downwards.

 Skylar hooks a thumb under her chin and forces her to look at him. I stand quietly at the side. “Do we not make you feel at home?”

 She shakes her head.

 He smashes his lips against hers, and she struggles momentarily before giving in. I feel the same tingles that they feel. I reach over and stroke her shoulder while she wraps her arms around Skylar’s neck.

 He pulls back from her, leaving her panting. I step in as her knees buckle and catch her. I kiss her while Skylar stands inches away. Our hands explore her taut body, and she moans. 

 “Why don’t we take this upstairs,” I suggest.

 “What about Skylar’s game?” She pants.

 “I found a new game,” Skylar smirks. He scoops her up and carries her toward the elevators.

 I press the button and the door dings, and we step on.

 “Skylar, Tyler,” Dad yells out.

 “What, Dad?” Skylar growls.

 “I need you both to come with me," Dad responds.

 “Why?” Skylar asks.

 “Just do as I say,” Dad looks angry, and I know it’s best not to argue.

 Skylar gently sets Amber on the ground. “We’ll be back later.”

 “I want to come,” Amber protests.

 “It’s best you stay upstairs, Amber,” Dad orders her.

 “But-“ She tries to argue, but he raises his hand.

 “Do not argue with me,” Dad huffs. 

 Amber sighs and folds her arms. 

 “We’ll see you later, honey,” I kiss her cheek and step out of the elevator. Skylar kisses her forehead and follows me,

 She glares at us as the door closes.

 “What’s wrong, Dad?” Skylar asks.

 “Alpha Timmons is at the border demanding Oliver," Dad replies.
