 “My wolf is acting strange,” Savannah says as we stand in the elevator. 

 After training, I came back to the packhouse to shower and change clothes. I am wearing my nicest pair of jeans and a purple scoop neck blouse. I left my hair down and put on some light makeup.

 “Strange how?” Corie asks. 

 “Like she is pacing and whining,” Savannah responds.

 I know what she is feeling. The elevator doors open, and we walk down the hall to where two girls I don’t know are waiting for us.

 “Hey,” Corie greets the girls. “This is Amber,” She hooks a thumb at me. “And they are Matilda and Gina.”

 I nod at the girls. 

 One is quite short with red hair and sparkly green eyes. She smiles nervously at me. I can sense that both are omegas and hope my aura isn’t scaring them. The other one is a little taller with brown hair and brown eyes. She is wearing glasses and has braces.

 “I hope you don’t mind that they are omegas,” Corie blurts. 

 “It’s all good,” I shrug. “I had omega friends at home.” 

 The redhead smiles at me, “I’m Matilda. I am an omega, but I am also going to nursing school. My mom is a nurse, and I want to work with her in the pack hospital.”

 “That’s pretty freaking awesome,” I smile at her. “So, you must be Gina?” I ask the other one.

 She trembles slightly while nodding.

 “Hey, please don’t be scared of me,” I tell her. “I try to be cool with everyone, regardless of rank.”

 “Cool,” Gina breathes out. “I’m not in school like Matilda is. I work in the kitchen. Someday I want to open my own bakery.”

 “Oooh,” I laugh. “So you must make some gnarly baked goods, huh?”

 “I guess,” Gina grins.

 Savannah whimpers beside me. “Aja says my mate is coming.”

 “Huh?” I sigh. “Have you been having dreams about a mysterious he-wolf?” I ask, and Savannah nods. “Yeah, I had that with Lilith. She acted up until I was compelled to find the ass-“ I pause and glance at Corie, “my mates.”

 “Were you about to call my brothers assholes?” Corie asks with a laugh.

 I shrug.

 “It’s okay, they are assholes,” She keeps laughing.

 “Wait, Skylar and Tyler are your mates?” Matilda asks wide-eyed.

 I gulp down what I wanted to say and nod, “Yeah. I came here from Shadow Winds to be with them.” 

 Savannah makes a face and looks away.

 “Wow, and I thought Savannah was going to be Luna,” Gina blurts out.

 “It’s complicated,” I snort.

 “Hey, let’s get going. I made an appointment at the spa,” Corie speaks up. 

 We all start towards the front of the house. 

 “I met my mate,” Matilda says. “But he rejected me because I am an omega.”

 “That sucks,” I express. “His loss.”

 “It’s alright. He wasn’t my type,” Matilda shrugs.

 I can tell that she isn’t wholly alright with the rejection. “I hope you find someone that appreciates you and doesn’t disregard you based on your rank.”

 We step outside, and there is a pack SUV waiting for us. A familiar warrior is leaning against the front passenger door, “Hey, Chaz, are you stuck babysitting us?”

 Chaz rolls his eyes, “Hardly.”

 “Mom and Dad insist that at least one warrior escorts me whenever I leave the pack,” Corie explains.

 “Makes sense,” I mutter as we get into the vehicle. Corie sits up front with Chaz while I sit in the back seat with Savannah while Matilda and Gina take the middle seat. 

 Chaz starts the car, and pop music comes out of the speakers. 

 “Oh, I love this song,” Gina exclaims and dances in her seat as we pull away from the curb.

 “Do you think I’m about to meet my mate?” Savannah asks while touching my arm.

 “I can’t be certain. But it seems our wolves act up right before,” I tell her.

 She sighs.

 “Do you want you fated, mate? You have been the twins' chosen mate for so long.”

 “You probably want me to go with my fated mate, huh?” Savannah huffs.

 “Not really. If you leave, I am stuck with the twins,” I chuckle. “And Skylar clearly hates me.”

 “No, he doesn’t,” She shakes her head. “Ever since you showed up, he has been different.”

 “It’s been like three days,” I laugh.

 “I know. But last night, while we were making out, I could tell neither of them was into it,“ she explains. “And then they both passed out. They knew you were kissing Cal Walker, and both were angry about it.”

 “Yeah, I passed out too.”

 “My mom always told me that cheating on your real mate would cause pain. I’m not saying you cheated-“

 “I know what you mean,” I say. 

 “Anyways,” She chuckles dryly. “I at least want to meet my fated mate. Then I’ll decide what I want to do. I am starting to believe that things aren’t going to work out with the twins. You are meant to be with them. Skylar may not admit to it, but he has been sleeping near you the last two nights.”

 “He has?” I scoff.

 “He heard you crying and went to comfort you,” She explains.

 “Skylar?” I shake my head. I knew Tyler was there, but I hadn’t noticed Skylar.

 “As I told you before, the more Skylar denies the mate bond, the angrier he gets,” She shudders. 

 We fall into silence for a moment. 

 “I just hope your mate is a good man,” I tell her. “I hope you get dealt a better hand than I did.”

 “Tyler and Skylar are good men, Amber,” Savannah touches my arm. “Skylar may come off as an asshole, but he cares deeply about this pack and its members. He doesn’t like packs that mistreat their members, especially the omegas.”

 Matilda and Gina both turn to us. 

 I am surprised by what Savannah is saying. “I still don’t see things working out with us,” I shake my head.

 “I believe it will work out for you three,” Savannah smiles.

 The vehicle stops, “We are here,” Corie claps excitedly. 

 We all hop out of the SUV, and I look at the building. It’s a typical brick building with lovely landscaping and even a koi pond. I stop to stare at the colorful fish.

 “Do you like fish?” Matilda asks.

 “Yeah, we have a big pond in the garden back home,” I respond. “My mom was into koi fish.”

 “Weird,” Gina laughs.

 We go inside and are greeted by a woman with a name tag that says Zee, “Are you the Brooks party?” She asks.

 “Yes,” Corie confirms.

 Zee escorts us down a hall and into a waiting room, “Take off your clothes and put on these robes,” She points. “We’ll begin shortly,” She says and leaves the room.

 We all take off our clothes and don the soft and fluffy robes.

 “Oh my god, this is the best robe,” Gina laughs.

 “No, kidding,” I respond. 

 Zee returns and escorts us to another room with massage tables. Each of us lies on one. I am lying beside Gina.

 “So, you came from Shadow Winds, right?” She asks.

 “Yeah,” I confirm. “My uncle is the alpha, but my father is the gamma.”

 “Wow,” Gina laughs, “My dad was the janitor at the high school, and my mom works in the kitchen. My brother Harley is trying to become a warrior.”

 “Harley, he has buzzed brown hair and a scar on his chin?” I ask.

 “Yeah, that’s Harley,” Gina laughs.

 “I met him earlier during training,” I tell her.

 “How did he do?” She wonders.

 “Harley is very focused, and I believe he’ll make a good warrior,” I reply.

 “Awesome,” Gina smiles. “So, how does it feel to be the twins’ mate? I don’t know how I would handle one man, let alone two.”

 “I am still trying to decide how it feels, Gina,” I respond. I don’t want to burden her with my relationship problems. I also have feelings for Cal.

 Several masseuses walk into the room and proceed to give us all massages. After the massages, we get a mud bath and facials. In the end, we get mani-pedis. I chose to have my nails painted a bright pink.

 “I didn’t peg you for a pink person,” Corie points out.

 “Oh, were you expecting black?” I laugh.

 “Actually, yes,” She giggles.

 “I like black sometimes, but I also like pink.”

 After the spa, we go to a cafe for lunch before returning to the pack. I feel relaxed. I may not be on board with the twins, but I enjoy making new friends. Once back at the pack, I decided to head back to my room to talk to my family.

 A hand clamps over my mouth as I walk down the hall, and I am pulled into a closet. I narrow my eyes when I realize that it is Cal.

 “What are you doing?” I whisper to him.

 “I just needed to see you,” He grins. “My father and the alpha have banned me from getting near you.”

 “Really?” I sigh as he removes his hand. “That’s some bullshit.”

 “You are the twins’ mate,” He rolls his eyes.

 “Not by choice,” I huff.

 He leans in towards my lips, and Lilith growls in my head. I press a finger to him.

 “I don’t think we should kiss,” I say.

 “Why?”

 “Well, first last night I passed out. Second-“ I pause short of telling him about Tyler and me.

 “Look, I really like you, Amber,” Cal expresses. “We don’t have to be with our fated mates. Hell, I didn’t accept mine.”

 “Really? Why?” I ask.

 He scoffs, “She was an omega.”

 My eyes widen as I wonder if Matilda is the one he rejected, “That’s the only reason?” I ask.

 “Well, yeah,” He laughs. “She was cute and smart, but-“ He shudders. “I need a strong woman like you, not some omega.”

 I shake my head as I can’t believe what he is saying. “I have to go, Cal,” I say and try to push myself out of the room. 

 Cal leans into me, “Amber, please.”

 “Knock it off, Callen,” I grumble and shove him harder. He steps back, and I scramble out of the closet. The scent of rain and forest makes my heart thrum against my chest. 

 ‘The twins are home,’ Lilith announces to me.

 I see Tyler walking down the hallway with a big bouquet of colorful flowers. He spots me, and his whole face brightens up. I wave awkwardly at him.

 “You look cute,” He says as he reaches me and hands me the flowers. “My mom thought you would like these. I know you aren’t the girliest girl.”

 I sniff the mixed bouquet, “I do like flowers,” I laugh.

 “Oh, you got your nails painted,” Tyler notices. “Cute.”

 I grin, “Yeah, I went to the spa with Corie and some others.”

 “Savannah?” He lifts an eyebrow.

 “Yeah,” I nod. “I like her.”

 “That’s cool,” He shrugs.

 I can sense anger coming from my mate but not Tyler. “What is Skylar angry about now?”

 Tyler shrugs, “I don’t know. He was talking to Savannah, but I didn’t stick around.” He reaches out and moves a strand of my hair behind my ears. “So, we are hanging out tonight, still?”

 “Sure,” I smile. 

 “Do you like pizza?”

 “What kind of idiot doesn’t like pizza?” I snort. 

 “We can order pizza and watch movies,” He suggests. “What kind of movies do you like?”

 “Comedy or fantasy,” I reply.

 “Cool,” He holds his hand to me. 

 I clasp it, and we walk towards the elevator. I glance back to see Cal leaning against a wall glaring at us. I shudder as we step onto the elevator. 

 “Are you okay?” Tyler asks.

 “Great,” I lie.

 He says nothing else, and we ride in silence. The door opens, and Sheila is in the hall talking to Corie. She notices the flowers.

 “Do you like the flowers, Amber?”

 “Yes,” I nod.

 “I had an omega leave a vase in your room for them,” She winks.

 “Thank you,” I laugh.

 We get to my room, and I place the flowers in the vase while Tyler flops on the couch. He has his phone to his ear.

 “Hey, yeah, can we get a couple of pizzas up to Amber’s room?” He says. “What toppings do you want?”

 I tap my chin, “Meat, or whatever. I like anything but green olives.”

 Tyler grins, “Same. I want an all meat pizza for one and cheese for the other. You like cheese?”

 I nod.

 “Wings?”

 “Sure, but not too spicy,” I reply.

 “BBQ wings,” He tells the person on the other side. “Thank you,” He hangs up his phone. “They’ll be ready in half an hour or so.”

 “Awesome,” I reply and pick up the TV remote. “What are we watching?”

 “Whatever you want to watch,” Tyler grins. 

 I settle on Legend. “Have you seen this movie?”

 “Yeah,” Tyler grins. “I love this movie.”

 The movie starts, and we sit awkwardly on the couch. Within minutes I find myself leaning on Tyler while he has his arm around me. His scent comforts me as I lay on his chest. Tingles spread through my body as he strokes my arm.

 Halfway through the movie, there is a knock on the door. I get up to answer it, assuming that our food has arrived. I open the door, and Skylar is standing on the other side.

 I fold my arms and glare at him, “What do you want?”

 He takes a deep breath, “Can I hang out with you guys?”
